Our principles
Integrity first
We advocate decision-making guided by transparency, high-quality evidence and public health priorities, to ensure that health policies are developed in the best interest of the population.
Science free from bias
We support rigorous and independent research, free from conflicts of interest, to inform health care decisions. Evidence must be driven by scientific rigour, without influence from industrial or political pressures.
High-quality evidence over opinion
We trust systematic, well-conducted research over anecdote and authority. While expertise has its place, informed health care decisions must rest on high-quality, reproducible evidence.
Evidence-based practice as the standard
Health care must be grounded in best practices of proven effectiveness. We advocate continuous learning, critical appraisal and responsible application of evolving evidence in clinical and policy settings.
Shared decision-making
Patients and the public deserve to be active participants in their health care. We support transparent communication of risks and benefits, to allow individuals to make informed choices in partnership with their health professionals.
“As physicians and scientists, we have a duty to protect the integrity of science, to ensure its independence from special interests, and to uphold its highest standards. Only through rigorous and impartial evidence can we deliver the best care and build a health system that truly serves the public interest.”
